About This Project

Both carpet and vinyl, carpet tile base is a hybrid that works well in the right space.  Typically one tile yields four strips that can range between 4.5” x 18” to 6” x 24” depending on the tile size.  The base height will determine your yield but dividing the tile into equal increments eliminates waste.  Backing side out is the lowest common denominator but face side out is an option.  Two strips placed back-to-back or face-to-face stick together nicely and provide a good 1/2” thickness.
