About This Project

A descendant of bristle blocks, booster seats and other children’s items, PALLET[e] is a seating and storage platform that plugs together horizontally and vertically much like its namesake.  You can nest them into a long bench or stack them up with no real modular limitation.  Nine panels of four carpet tiles in two distinct profiles go together in each direction without hardware or tools.  Take some panels out and it changes from a bench to a storage device.  All eighteen panels can stack flat and be moved individually to minimize the effect of the total weight.  While the working prototype uses nuts, bolts and washers, a low profile fastening device such as binding posts or twine is required for tight nesting.  Whether subdued or bold, your carpet tiles become your PALLET[e].  Sit.  Store.  Stack.  Nest.
