About This Project
SOF.FIT 1 is inspired by the movement of sound waves and the carpet’s high sound absorption. A dynamic yet functional soffit can be fabricated with just carpet samples and a simple metal frame at a reasonable cost. The carpet’s sound insulation makes this soffit ideal for spaces where noise needs to be dissipated such as restaurants, bars or even conference rooms. Approximately 100 carpet samples are necessary to fabricate the soffit shown above which covers and area of 18’x40’.
