About This Project

A book shelf we constructed comprised of 4 carpet tile samples suspended from the ceiling using threaded rods and a series of unistruts.  With the limitless styles, patterns and colors of the carpet tiles, the custom look can be as unique as you to enhance your room design

Project Feedback

Nice concept!  I love the way the carpet tiles potentially contibute to/coordinate with the colors in the space.  Also, whats great about the project is that it’s one of the few that doesn’t demand tedious cutting of tiles.  Well done.

I can hardly contain my excitement about how delicious this turned out.  Well done boys!

But no seriously, when do you start putting these into production and when can I get one?

Looks a lot like B+N industries cable shelving system…

It’s good to see an actual mock-up, which seem to be lacking among other entries.
This is a very intuitive assembly piece, which successfully utilizes the properties of the carpet tile as generative to the form of the shelving.  The assembly also displays the patterns as if to showcase them.

A unique re-use -Well Done.

I think this is a wonderful idea, especially for those that enjoy redecorating and staying current with the latest trends.  The carpet tiles come in such a diverse color pallet and various patterns, making it easy for any person to choose one that matches their taste. The shelves are easily accessible, everything is visible, and there is still a sense of style!  Where do I get mine?

What an amazing idea!  As an interior design office, we have so many random carpet squares floating around that we have gotten in as samples in the past.  The idea of making them into a shelf to hold our various other samples is genius!  Great Job!!!!!
