How do I enter?

Submission is quick and easy. Register on the site then click on the “Upload Entry” button and upload an image of your final design along with PDF instructions on how to build it. We also want to know how many samples or Tryks you used. The cut-off date for entries is May 13, so don’t hesitate. If you are having problems with the site feel free to contact us.

What is the entry format?

Your entry image needs to be JPGs sized 800 x 600 pixels at 300 dpi - illustrations or digital prototypes are acceptable. We need it at this size in case members of the media want to promote your design. Last year winning designs were picked up by TreeHugger, Inhabitat, Core 77, Contract and the Financial Times of London. Your instructions need to be provided in a PDF format. Be sure they’re clear (illustrations or photos are great) so that anyone who downloads them can easily recreate your design.

What’s eligible for entry?

Anything you can think up! Last year we had furniture, desk accessories, fashion accessories and even pet toys. Everyone is eligible to enter except employees of our sponsors.

How do I know if I’m a finalist?

You’ll be notified via e-mail by May 30 if you’re a finalist. If yours is selected you’ll need to send us a working prototype for the exhibit in Chicago.

Where do I get carpet samples or Tryks?

If you’re an interior design professional they’re probably taking over your office space! If you’re not in the profession, but still interested, just call your local design firms and ask them if you can have their unused samples. Most designers are happy to donate them to a good cause rather than having to throw them away.

Terms & Conditions

By entering “Ample Sample” you agree to allow your designs to be promoted and downloaded throughout the world by sponsors, media or anyone else that wants to spread the good word. You retain the copyright to your design.
