About This Project

Fabricated from two small elastic loops, four buttons and one, unaltered, square carpet sample (of any size), oRUGami is a scalable, flat-pack and multi-functional bag that produces no waste and uses minimal effort and materials to construct, creating a truly eco-friendly product with an intriguing aesthetic. Thanks to its unique “Origami like” construction, oRUGami can be opened in several different ways and can even be folded back out flat for use as a mat, for easy packing into luggage or for cleaning. Its unique shape, strength and method of opening suit the product to many different uses such as an overnight bag, gym bag or even for shopping and picnics. The scalability of the design to work with any sized square carpet sample means that bags of any dimensions can be created, from pencil case to beach bag, and from any color or pattern carpet to give a true feeling of personalization.
