About This Project

Star is a simple, abstract and unique wall decoration that doubles as an accessory stand and a light diffuser, depending on where it is installed. Fabricated from a single standard carpet sample and two wall screws, the user simply scores their desired pattern into the carpet tile with a knife and then bends the tile to reveal the pattern and hammers it into place on the wall. Towels, scarfs, t-shirts, coats and hats can then be stuffed into the pattern, or hung off of the top to create a unique and eye catching accessory stand which is equally as useful in the hallway and kitchen as the bedroom. Star can also be installed over wall lighting fixtures to create a subtle up and down lighting effect and a beautiful visual from the small beams of light escaping from the scored pattern.
